Jesus Out of the Box is an exciting opportunity for upper Key Stage 2 children to explore some exciting (and slightly surprising) stories about Jesus. 

 

Through 5 boxes, we unpack 5 different stories, and give children to opportunity to think about why each story is so surprising, and how Christians might learn from each one. The stories include Jesus washing his disciples feet, Jesus calming the storm, Jesus turning water into wine and Jesus healing a man with leprosy. 

There are reflection activities after each box- from writing reflections onto the ‘graffiti wall’,  to craft activities.

As well as this, children will think about how each story could link to one of the beatitudes taught by Jesus and reflect on how Jesus behaved in the 5 different situations. 

Overall, this will help children to think about how Christians can show their commitment to God.

 

The lesson takes between 1.5-2 hours. It is ideal for Year 5 and Year 6.
